Loskop Dam Nature Reserve

Loskop Dam Nature Reserve consists 23 000ha of bushveld and includes the largest dam in the Souther Hemisphere.

A highlight at the Loskop Dam Nature Reserve is the boat-based game viewing which is available from the lodges and resorts surrounding the Dam. There are over 70 species of mammals on the reserve including three of the Big Five, the Buffalo, White Rhino and Leopard. Other wildlife includes hippo, warthog, giraffe and plenty of buck. It is therefore a protected area.

Fishing is a major attraction in this reserve - the most desirable species found are carp, blue and red breasted bream, yellow fish, sharptooth catfish, eels, mudfish and many more other species.
