Motorcycle enthusiasts - Riders and Non-Riders - are all invited to join a leisurely morning coffee ride along Cape Town's breath-taking coastline on each Saturday of the month of May. This is a great opportunity to step out of one's comfort zone for an unforgettably thrilling experience. There are two tour routes that attendees could enjoy, alternating weekly between The Coastal Ride and the Harbour Ride.
On the Coastal Ride, attendees are taken on a beautiful morning ride (if weather permits) through Cape Town, passing Table Mountain and moving along the curvy coastal road towards Oudekraal. There, in front of the amazing backdrop of the 12 Apostles and overlooking the ocean, the group stops for a coffee and chat. After the coffee break, they take a leisurely ride back along Camps Bay and Sea Point, ending the ride at the RETZA base.
The Harbour Ride entails a ride along the M3 towards the beautiful winding roads and lush and green forest areas of Kirstenbosch Gardens. The route continues past magnificent views of the Table Mountain, then cruises along the beautiful winding roads up to Constantia Nek before taking pause in Hout Bay, where the group stops for a coffee at a quaint place near the harbour. Following the coffee is a leisurely ride back along the coastline via Llandudno and Camps Bay, ending at RETZA.
Attendees are to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the tour departure to complete all the formalities, receive their motorcycle gear and morning coffee, and to check their Royal Enfield for the ride.
Please wear a pair of pants (preferably jeans) and solid shoes (no open toe or sandals). Helmets and jackets are provided for those who need.
Those wishing to hire a Royal Enfield (included in the R350 price) must bring along their valid motorcycle licence.
Those wishing to ride pillion with a friend should select the 'Pillion with Rider' ticket. Those who need a rider to ride pillion with should select the 'Pillion (no rider)' ticket.
